Air Assault Fort Campbell, Kentucky

What is called the "Toughest Ten Days in the Army". Typically only about half of those who start the school graduate. On the last day students have to complete a 12 mile field march carrying about 40 pounds of equipment in four hours.

Being Watched

On my way to Cleveland over the weekend I stopped to get gas in Bellville, Ohio. While pumping I noticed this alpaca watching me. The owner invited me to take pictures and even get in the trailer, which I declined.

Grand Army of the Republic

One of my hobbies is genealogy. This is a flag holder placed on the graves of veterans of the Union Army during the Civil War. This one was loose on the ground near the grave of one of my great uncles, in Perry County Ohio. My family has a rich history of military service I have found in my research.

It's the Chihuli chandelier in the lobby of the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.

I realized the other day when I was going through filed pictures that I hadn't taken a photo of the entire chandelier. I had go to the net to find this one.

Rock Sculptures

My wife and I were hiking in Clifton Gorge along the Little Miami river when we saw all these rock sculptures on the bank. It must have taken along time to balance the rocks.

Mayflies

Mayflies at Port Clinton on Lake Erie. They were this thick everywhere we went. Literally millions, you couldn't take a step without crushing a few hundred of them.

John Clem

Probably the most famous person from my hometown is Johnny Clem. The elementary school that I attended is named after him. He was the subject of a Disney movie back in the sixties.

Butterfly Bush

I'm not sure if that's the official name or not, but they sure attract butterflies. This picture was taken last summer.

Basket Building

I grew up in Newark, Ohio which isn't famous for much. But you have to admit this building is quite original. The headquarters for the Longaberger basket company.
